My 5 Best
Wedding Photo Tips Ever
from long-serving wedding photographer Michelle Tverberg
1. Take Your Wedding Photos Before the Ceremony
A bride is no longer locked in seclusion for fear of passing
ill luck to the groom if he sees her before the wedding. You'll
avoid rushed photos, and impatient guests by having the portraits
taken before the ceremony. Of course, you ought to make it special
when the bride & groom first see each other. Ensure that
the photographer is there capturing the romance & energy of
these intimate moments.
2. Avoid a Thorny Situation, Ask Your Florist for an Extra Corsage
Just in case one gets broken or marred. Also, it’s
definitely worth the extra service fee to have the florist stay
and ensure all flowers are pinned on and perfect. (Or perhaps a
single female relative that would like the idea of getting close
to a group of tuxedo clad groomsmen.)
3. Face the Audience
Fabulous pictures occur when the bride & groom face their audience
of guests. If possible have the wedding party turn towards
the audience too. Just remember that your guests do want to
see your face more than the back of your head. Especially
during the vows and lighting of the unity candle.
4. Pamper the Groom Way Before the Honeymoon-- with a Manicure
Without fail, grooms shy away when it's time to have their hand
photographed for the classic bride-groom-ring-close-up photo, this
reluctance is remedied with a bit of cuticle care, not to mention
the confidence he’ll have shaking well-wisher’s hands
through-out the day.
5. Find a Special Location for Newlywed Pics Together
Find an attractive photo spot prior to your wedding day. Plan on
a few-minute stop between your ceremony & reception location
for capturing candid, romantic photos. Parks, lakes, and unique
city backgrounds all make for fun pictures with the newlyweds.
